For girls aged 16 - 20, living in Washington DC, MXBM is excited to host their first ever summer program with funding and support from the Washington Area Women’s Foundation’s Rock Star Fund and the Youth Advisory Board of the DC Girl’s Coalition!
Application Deadline: Monday May 27, 2024
Program Dates: From the First Week of June, culminating in a performance at the end of August
Time Commitment: Approximately 3 - 5 hrs/week
Hybrid: Virtual & In Person, All Locations are Metro Accessible

Activities Involved:
Enter the program with a song already written, or a polished draft
Attend biweekly virtual sessions to learn about and reflect on the creative process of musical artists
Use Reaper (or a DAW of your choice) to make your beat
Record your song
Talk about your music and artistry in a recorded ‘Artist Interview’
Design cover art for your single, and write your Artist Bio
Perform live at the Final Showcase
